I have a bias since it is the go-to sushi place for my workplace but I have to say that this restaurant is my favourite place to sit down after work and enjoy a side of takoyaki and ika karaage. Its really close to the Renfrew Skytrain station so it's quite convenient for takeout. During office hours it can get quite busy but, outside of those hours the service is quick!

Upon entering, I thought that it was a nice cozy place. It was neat and tidy and looks like it's well maintained.
The food was ok, the prices are quite high for what you get. For example a Bento box was $26 and I got 3 small pieces of sushi and 4 small pieces of sashimi, small salad, miso soup, a few pieces of tempura and some stir-fry on top of a mound of bean sprouts ... for $26. Not impressed.
One thing I didn't like was that the staff played hard core rap music that included swearing and slang. The had the volume up high, not suitable music. The table next to me requested the music to be changed (they had children dining with them) and the staff accommodated.

Near the Renfrew neighbourhood, there aren't many choices for food. So we decided to come in to try it out! Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing.
We ordered unagi donburi, and it was cold. The unagi sauce, rice, and unagi itself was cold. The server explained that they used sushi rice instead, and it was normal as a Japanese restaurant to be served this way.
Once they agreed to change a new bowl for us, I can hear them from microwaving our unagi instead. The chef was annoyed, when he heard us complaining.
Sorry, but I won't return for its price, quality, or service. -

Tldr: Trust the YELP review, stay away. Don't make the same mistake as us.
Just went there and ordered two unagi dons and a negitoro roll. The roll was okay, nothing special but not bad. The unagi don was served with cold rice...he unagi itself was cold too. Not what you expect when you order a Japanese unagi don, which if you go to any other Japanese restaurant would be really hot (it's not supposed to be cold!). When we mentioned this to the server, they tried to tell us that the rice is cold because the sauce is cold. That was not a reasonable excuse. When we asked for warm rice they gave us regular warm rice but proceeded to microwave our unagi.
To cap it all off, the sushi bar chef's attitude was bad. When we tried to get the server's attention to address the problem, the chef responded with an annoyed tone. -

1 Star for the way the friendly staff handled my experience.... lol. Please see details below
- I hardly touched my miso ramen because the broth tasted like water. Absolutely no richness or flavour that is usually expected from a ramen soup base.
- The gyoza skin tasted like LEATHER - hard, chewy, and tough. I hate wasting food but i really could not bring myself to eat more than half of 1 gyoza
The server asked why my plate was so full after I said I was done. I explained that I always order ramen soup and gyoza, and the quality from this restaurant was less than acceptable. However I still said I would pay for both dishes, even though I was very disappointed with my meal. She apologized and explained what happened to the chef. Please note that I did not initiate the complaint, I just simply answered any questions she asked me.
When I went up to pay, she said sorry again and said that I only had to pay for half of my meal. Although the food was absolutely terrible, I'm happy with how receptive they were to feedback.
